Help for litigants in person
As cuts to legal aid continue, the number of people representing themselves in court (litigants in person) has risen dramatically. At Help Cheshire, our mission is to support those litigants in person by providing accessible guidance.
We believe everyone deserves access to justice. Recent advancements in technology have made it more realistic—and less daunting—to manage your own case.
We’re here to help.
Initial Contact
Send us the details of your case or give us a call. We’re here to help.
Information Gathering
We’ll collect and organize all relevant information, helping you structure a clear timeline of events.
AI Review & Feedback
We’ll analyze your case using AI tools and our own expertise, then provide a detailed report of our findings—all free of charge.
Deciding Next Steps
At this point, both you and our team will have a clearer understanding of your case. If we believe we can offer further help and you’d like ongoing support, we’ll discuss how that might work. While we cannot manage your case directly, we can guide you as you continue as a litigant in person.
Costs & Special Cases
Costs for extended support vary by case but remain significantly lower than traditional solicitor fees. In some situations—such as private child law cases involving domestic abuse allegations—we’re able to work at no charge.
Think of Help Cheshire as your first step in understanding your case before you hire professional legal advice—or, if you can’t find or afford such advice, as a trusted friend you can call on whenever you need assistance.
We’ve handled many cases and have learned it’s often better to resolve disputes quickly and cooperatively. Legal proceedings can be stressful and time-consuming, so we encourage clients to explore efficient, collaborative solutions whenever possible, rather than lengthy court battles.
If you have a civil matter you’d like to discuss or simply want to better understand your options, reach out to us today. Let’s work together to clarify your situation and explore your next steps.
Disclaimer: Help Cheshire is not a law firm and does not provide formal legal representation. Our goal is to assist litigants in person in navigating the legal system more effectively.
We love hearing people’s stories, so feel free to drop us a line!
